sweater weather

with all the excitement i've had about knitting this winter, i've just recently taken on the biggest task of them all: i've decided to knit a sweater. like....not just a dorky looking stiff bulky sweater that i'd make but never wear, but a real, beautiful, soft, and cozy sweater. as it turns out, handmades don't have to look like elementary craft projects these days. i'm actually thrilled to be working on this project, especially with the travel plans that yasu and i have set for the next month--I will have PLENTY to do en route. with the gracious assistance of my teacher from the studio, i've just barely begun knitting this beautiful sweater from a designer named ysolda teague.

i can only hope that my sweater will turn out as beautifully and as wearable as hers.

i'll probably post some progress updates on how the sweater is going simply as a means of documenting the project for myself. when the work actually begins looking like a sweater, i'll be really, really excited, as right now i just have a whole lot of wound yarn to work with. isn't it beautiful? also, how cute are the shop girls??

For reference, the yarn is quince & co chickadee in belize.

thank goodness sweater weather is year round here in colorado...
